A Lydia Christmas Video

1:25 PM

If you've been following this blog for a long time, you might remember the tradition of making a family Christmas music video. Believe it or not, that tradition started back in 2011!

In case you missed them, here's a recap ;)

This year would have been the FIFTH year! But I dropped the ball :( and didn't make one :(. At one point I considered making one over the break, but I thought it would probably be more hassle than it was worth and decided against it. To be honest, I'm actually surprised at how much I regret that decision! Especially now that I realize it would have been the fifth annual (which makes it seem especially cool, in my opinion).

In place of doing the music video, I decided to make a video of Lydia's first Christmas. The problem was...I kinda forgot about that, too! I got some quality footage of her waking up on Christmas morning (the entire first half of the video is just from ONE example of her waking up! I literally had over FIVE MINUTES recorded of her yawning and stretching, hahaha she is so dramatic - it's hilarious.) but then didn't really film much the rest of the day. I would randomly remember to film her when I thought about it - but, I have to admit - if you're not her parent/grandparent...you probably won't find it too interesting. haha! I'm kicking myself now, though, because when I was editing it I thought of about 50 things I should have filmed to make it more entertaining. Oh well. Live and learn!

It's true that I will likely not make a video of my second child on Christmas morning, or my third, etc. and in some ways knowing that I won't be able to give all of my children the same preferential treatment makes me not want to do it for Lydia - but it seems silly to not do something now just because I won't be able to do it for my other children later. I guess that's just one (and possibly the only?) perk of being a first child since you have to put up with parents who literally don't have a clue about what they're doing. haha!
